Divine Brain Spine Hospital.
“Divine Brain -Spine Hospital and Trauma Center” was started in the rental premises on the first floor of Dr. Godbole’s “Shree Surgical Nursing Home“ at Naupada,Thane on 01/08/2004 Dr. Vinayak Dattatraya.Joshi and Dr. Dinesh Ananda Shetty, both M.Ch in Neurosurgery, were the partners in the beginning. In the first month of opening itself they achieved target of 80 Admissions.Both the partners were popular in the vicinity as expert, knowledgeable and kind hearted Neurosurgeons Hence the number of surgeries done at the hospital rose from 5 to15 per month and total gross receipts increased from 5 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs by December 2006.
In January 2007, Dr.Dinesh Shetty decided to start own setup at Mira Road by the name “Orbit Hospital.” Hence , the partnership firm was converted to Proprietary concern, now owned and managed individually by Dr.Vinayak Dattatraya Joshi from 01/02/2007.
Since 01/02/2007, the hospital has grown at a steady rate. On 30/11/2009 the rented premises were left and from 1/12/2009, the hospital was shifted to new premises at Second and Third Floor, Abhimaan 1, Teen Haat Naka, L.B.S. Road, Naupada; Thane(West).
Here we have full fledged intensive care unit which has 10 beds. There are three Ventilators with weaning modes. All the beds are fitted with ECG Monitors, Pulse Oxymeter and Central Oxygen and Central Suction. There are Eight Beds in Special Rooms and Five beds in the General Ward. There is a full fledged Pathology Laboratory in the premises.
X-ray and ECG facilities are available on bedside.
Operation theatre is fully equipped with Multiparameter monitors and Operating Microscope.
The speciality of this Hospital is that no patient is left untreated for the want of money. Doctor Joshi received coveted Thane Bhushan Puraskar of Thane Municipal Corporation, for this selfless service to the poor and downtrodden of Thane; in the year 2006.
Brain Surgeries and Spine Surgeries are the main stay of operative work. Though General Surgical, Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgical and Urological work is also undertaken. At present the gross emoluments are approximately. Rs. 1, 60,00,000/- per year. The hospital has started Stem Cell Therapies this year and already performed 15 such procedures each earning about Rs. 1,50,000/-
Future Plans are to upgrade the facilities and provide better ambience and services to the patients and improvisation in techniques of surgeries including ‘C’ arm Image intensifier and Endoscopes. Up gradation of Operation theatre by introduction of Laminar Airflow and upgrading the Operative Microscope are also on the cards.. This should generate more operative work increasing the receipts by 20-30 per cent.
